DAVID HERED - CAPTAIN
David was born in Ft. Lauderdale and learned to swim before he could walk. His parents had him on the beach and playing in the ocean from the time he could crawl. This is where David began his love of the ocean.
David's dad was involved in real estate in the Bahamas, which enabled David to start exploring the islands at an early age. By the time he was 13, he was surfing and sailing throughout the Bahamas.
He had his 1st Boston Whaler when he was 14 years old and spent most of his free days fishing, diving and surfing with his friends.
When David was 20 years old he started delivering yachts around the world and at 26 obtained his captains license.
David has been involved with many environmental organizations since he was in junior high school and because of that love of the environment, he regularly donates to surf rider foundation, world wildlife fund and the NRDC.
And even though David has spent time in many exotic places, crossing the Pacific several times to Hawaii and Japan, and crossing the Atlantic to the Med., he truly feels like the Bahamas are his second home. |
